The Electoral Commission (EC) has reminded voters that 13 January 2026 is the final date to collect their Voter Location Slips (VLS), a key requirement for participating in the upcoming elections.
In a public update, the Commission emphasized that the Voter Location Slip confirms a voter’s assigned polling station and is issued free of charge at parish and ward offices nationwide.
“Collect your Voter Location Slip (VLS) free of charge from your parish or ward by 13 January 2026,” the EC stated.
The commission urged voters to pick up their slips early, warning that failure to do so before the deadline could lead to inconvenience or delays on polling day. Voters are also encouraged to check their personal details on the slip and report any errors immediately.
The EC noted that the exercise aims to reduce confusion, ease voter flow, and ensure orderly voting during the election period. Citizens have been advised not to wait until the last minute, as 13 January 2026 marks the cutoff for VLS collection.
Uganda is set to go to the polls on 15 January 2026.
