Police have arrested 38 suspected criminals during operations conducted in crime-prone areas of Entebbe and Mukono.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the operations targeted suspected criminals linked to robbery, burglary, and drug abuse.
Owoyesigyire said a night operation conducted on May 19, 2026, in the Entebbe Division areas of Bendegere, Kasenyi, and Nakiwogo led to the arrest of 31 suspects.
“The suspects were found in possession of suspected narcotic substances and other exhibits. They are currently detained at Entebbe Police Station pending prosecution,” Owoyesigyire said.
He added that another operation carried out on May 18, 2026, in Jojo, Sonde, and Misindye in Goma Division, Mukono District, resulted in the arrest of seven more suspects from what police described as known criminal black spots.
The suspects were charged and detained at Goma Police Station under Mukono CPS pending prosecution.
Owoyesigyire said Kampala Metropolitan Police will continue carrying out disruptive operations aimed at eliminating criminal elements and improving the safety and security of the public.
