The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is set to convene the first meeting of its Parliamentary Caucus for the 12th Parliament, scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026, at State House, Entebbe.
In a notice dated May 18, 2026, NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong informed all NRM Members of Parliament that the meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. sharp.
“Notice is hereby given for the first meeting of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus, which has been scheduled to take place on Sunday, 24th May, 2026 at State House, Entebbe, starting at 2:00 p.m. prompt,” the notice reads.
The party has made COVID-19 testing mandatory for all attending members. MPs are required to undergo testing at the Parliamentary Conference Hall within the Parliamentary Buildings between Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days.
According to the notice, independent MPs who have expressed interest in cooperating with the NRM have also been invited to attend the meeting.
Todwong congratulated the MPs on their swearing-in and said the party secretariat looks forward to working closely with them to “protect the gains as the country makes a qualitative leap towards a higher middle-income status society.”
Copies of the notice were sent to the President and NRM National Chairman, the Vice President, the Prime Minister, and the Government Chief Whip.
The meeting comes as the 12th Parliament settles into office and prepares for key business, including the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker, as well as the processing of the national budget.
