Journalist Raymond Mujuni has been appointed Senior Policy Adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this website has learnt.
Mujuni has not yet publicly announced the appointment, which was disclosed by the European Union Ambassador to Uganda, Jan Sadek, in a message congratulating him on his new role.
“A pleasure to meet and congratulate @qataharraymond who has been appointed Senior Policy Adviser at the @UgandaMFA! Thanks for coming by Raymond,” Sadek wrote on X.
Sadek also pledged to work with Mujuni to further strengthen the partnership between Uganda and the European Union.
“We look forward to further strengthening the EU-Uganda Partnership together with you,” he added.
Mujuni is a veteran journalist who has worked with some of Uganda’s leading media organisations, including NTV, Daily Monitor and NBS Television.
He is also a co-founder of the African Institute for Investigative Journalism, which he established with fellow journalist Solomon Sserwanja. The organisation trains journalists in investigative journalism skills, and Mujuni serves as its deputy director.
Mujuni’s appointment comes as he moves from journalism and media development into a policy advisory role at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
