The Chief of Staff in the UPDF, Major General Jack Bakasumba has appointed Colonel Chris Magezi as the acting Defence Public Information officer on an acting basis.
In a Thursday afternoon statement, the UPDF said Col Magezi who is one of the military assistants to the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba will run the office of the Defence Public Information (DDPIO) on an interim basis.
“The substantive DDPIO, Major General Felix Kulayigye is on leave and is expected to be back in office after one month,” the statement said.
Col Magezi, known to be close to Gen Kainerugaba previously served as Special Forces Command spokesperson .
He was last year promoted to the rank of Colonel .
