Vivo Energy Uganda has announced a shs 50 million sponsorship to the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) Motocross team.
The sponsorship package will support several critical components designed to strengthen the sport’s infrastructure and competitiveness.
Participating riders will benefit from access to Shell Advance lubricants and Shell V-Power fuel during selected races to ensure optimal engine performance.
Scrutineering services will be provided at designated Shell service stations through Motorcare Express points, ensuring that all competing motorcycles meet essential safety and performance standards.
The sponsorship includes safety reflectors for all race marshals, track safety tape, and branded materials to ensure events are conducted to the highest standards. In addition, a direct financial contribution will support FMU’s grassroots development programmes and improvements in event infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Joanita Menya Mukasa, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda, underscored the deeper purpose of the partnership.

Motorsport thrives on quality performance, precision, endurance, and ambition, values that define both our business and Uganda’s young athletes. We are proud to stand behind the motocross community and to play an active role in driving the sport forward.”
Mr Arthur Blick, Deputy Vice President for Motocross at FMU, also expressed gratitude .
“This sponsorship could not have come at a better time. Motocross is growing fast, especially among young people. Vivo Energy Uganda’s support is not only timely—it is transformational. It strengthens the foundations of the sport and gives our athletes the resources they need to compete and excel,” he said.
The partnership will be activated across a series of upcoming FMU motocross events, including MX4 in Lira Omito, MX5 and MX8 in Garuga, and MX7 in Fort Portal. These events will serve as platforms to showcase both rising Ugandan talent and the impactful collaboration between FMU and Vivo Energy Uganda.
