Former Leader of Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga has said he is going to drag National Unity Platform president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine to court over linking him to the incarceration of deceased MP Muhammad Sseigirinya and Allan Ssewanyana.
On Tuesday, MP Ssewanyana while at NUP headquarters alleged that Mpuuga and other MPs from Masaka were behind the duo’s incarceration.
Addressing journalists at Parliament, Mpuuga said he had been thrown aback by the allegations against him.
” We are fighting to end Museveni regime as a united opposition then there comes a joker who addresses the media that I am responsible for the Masaka killings including the death of honorable Ssegirinya. Lets meet in court because they must be knowing the people behind these killings,” Mpuuga said.
The Nyendo-Mukungwe legislator said Allan Ssewanyana is being used by what he termed as “self-seeking politicians.”
” I sympathize with honorable Ssewanyana for what he went through yesterday and that’s what he(Bobi) does to members of parliament in NUP who are always put on a gun point to sign on documents. He (Ssewanyana) shouldn’t have accepted to be humiliated like that because of an NUP card.”
” I watched him during his presser and I want to tell you Kyagulanyi is going down. I tried myself but it was difficult to rescue him from captivity. Someone needs to advise him to seek medical attention but I sympathize with the foot soldiers because very soon, he will sacrifice you and your life for politics.”
Bobi Wine and Mpuuga fell out two years ago over the shs500 million service award that Mpuuga received as Leader of Opposition.
