The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board has notified the public of the closure of the business in Uganda by 1xBet .

“Take notice that Advanced Gaming Limited trading as 1xBet has notified us of the closure of business operations in Uganda. The said operator has ceased operations with immediate effect,” the gaming body said in a February, 2, 2024 notice to the public.

Accordingly, punters have been advised to withdraw their funds immediately and stop staking with 1xBet.

IxBet has been in existence since 2007 .

Licence revoked

The development comes a few days after the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board revoked the betting licence for Melbet company.

In a February, 2, 2024 notice, the gaming regulator notified the public that Otrada Hospitality Limited trading as Mel Bet is not licensed to conduct gaming or betting activities in Uganda.

“All punters are advised to withdraw their funds and stop staking with the said company with immediate effect,” the regulator said in the notice.

It is however not clear why the licence for Melbet was revoked.

Melbet Uganda has been  operating  in Uganda since  2010.

The company is owned by Alenesro Ltd  with a registered office located in  Cyprus as a billing agent .
