Police in Kabalagala have arrested 65 suspects in an intelligence-led operation code-named “Dwog Paco” aimed at tackling rising crime in Makindye Division.

The operation, carried out on September 18, 2025, targeted known crime hotspots in Kasanga, Kisugu, Namungogo, Kanyongoga, and Kasavu parish.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the crackdown followed growing community concerns over robberies, burglaries, and muggings.

“We arrested 65 suspects who are now detained at Kabalagala Police Division. They face charges including possession of narcotic drugs and breaking implements. Statements have already been recorded,” Onyango said.

He noted that the operation reflects police’s commitment to proactive and intelligence-driven interventions.

“The operation is still ongoing. We are determined to reduce criminality in Kabalagala and ensure the safety of residents,” Onyango added.

Police said the targeted sweeps are part of broader efforts to dismantle gangs and restore order in crime-prone neighborhoods.
