Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has announced a planned power shutdown affecting Kireka, Kinawataka, Mbalwa, Namboole, Kyaliwajjala, and nearby areas tomorrow, Friday, November 14, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Jonan Kiiza, Head of Corporate and Stakeholder Affairs at UEDCL, noted that the shutdown is intended to allow experts to carry out system improvement works.

“This shutdown is to allow our technical team to safely carry out critical maintenance and system improvement works,” he said.

He urged residents to switch off their appliances until power is restored.

“All affected customers are advised to switch off their electrical appliances until we restore power supply. Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.”

Residents in the affected areas have been advised to prepare for the temporary interruption and take necessary precautions to avoid damage to electrical devices.

UEDCL thanked the public for their understanding as the maintenance work is carried out.
