The Paratus Group has marked another major step in its rapid expansion across Africa by entering a joint venture with Kampala-based Roke Telkom Ltd to establish Paratus Uganda.
The new entity brings together Roke Telkom’s long-standing local expertise with Paratus Group’s extensive African and international network, creating a unified operation designed to offer full-service connectivity and cross-border solutions for enterprise clients in Uganda and the region.
Paratus Uganda also plans to expand its services into key sectors such as healthcare, mining, tourism, and NGOs.
Roke Telkom, a leading Internet Service Provider and managed solutions provider with over 19 years of experience, has built and managed metropolitan fibre rings in major Ugandan cities and developed integrated network, security, and managed infrastructure solutions for government, retail, and security customers.
Speaking on behalf of Paratus Uganda, Edwin Kyambadde underscored the strategic value of combining regional knowledge with global connectivity:
“Our local strength and coverage combined with Paratus Group’s African and global connectivity make Paratus Uganda a strong partner for both global and domestic enterprise customers. Our skilled teams bring the speed, reliability, and quality that industries need. This is an exciting time for Uganda because Paratus Uganda will be offering incomparable connectivity options.”
Paratus Group CEO Schalk Erasmus described the launch as an important milestone:
“We are delighted to be opening in Uganda. Not only are we expanding into another key African market, but we are also bridging gaps between neighbouring countries and reinforcing our contiguous network offering.”
Group Commercial Executive Martin Cox emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership:
“Establishing Paratus Uganda is a key milestone in our expansion strategy and reflects our commitment to delivering quality network services across the continent. We are proud to partner with Roke as part of our broader African growth plan.”
With this launch, Paratus strengthens its footprint in East Africa and moves closer to its ambition of becoming the premier provider of seamless, cross-border connectivity solutions across the continent.
Paratus Group has operations in 15 African countries and employs over 800 employees across the group. This connects African businesses across the continent and delivers end-to-end service excellence.
The group’s footprint extends beyond Africa to international points of presence (PoPs) in Europe, the UK and the USA.
Born and bred in Africa, Paratus is thinking big as it grows its footprint to deliver Africa’s quality network. The Group aims to deliver real value and services to communities across Africa, while making a positive contribution to transformation in terms of both the people and the environment.
