In Biology, 1.5% of boys scored an A, slightly above 1.2% of girls, while 68.6% of boys scored a C, compared to 71.1% of girls.

The exams were released by the military of education and sports also the first lady Janet Museveni at statehouse in Nakasero.

Meanwhile, girls continued to lead in English and Christian Religious Education.

In English Language, 3.6% of girls scored an A, compared to 2.5% of boys, and 20.1% of girls scored a B versus 14.8% of boys.

In CRE, 3.9% of girls achieved an A, higher than 3.2% of boys, while 19.6% of girls scored a B compared to 16.2% of boys.

While girls excelled in English and CRE, UNEB data shows that boys dominate the science stream.

A total of 432,159 candidates sat for the examinations in 4,308 centres across the country. This is a 12.1 percent increase from last year’s 379,748 candidates, showing a rise in the number of learners completing Senior Four.

Girls formed the majority of candidates at 52.7 percent, while boys made up 47.3 percent. At least 154,637 students were under the Universal Secondary Education (USE) programme, with the rest being privately funded.

The exams were conducted under the theme “Embracing security and holistic assessment of learners in a dynamic environment,”
