Nakawa Market was filled with excitement on Friday as Coca-Cola introduced a new addition to its Fanta portfolio Fanta Pineapple.
The launch drew thousands of people eager to taste the refreshing new flavour, which has already won fans for its authentic pineapple taste.
A taxi conductor, James Kakande, could not hide his joy after tasting the drink.
“I’ve always looked for a trusted drink that tastes like pineapple. I’m happy Fanta has answered my prayers. Siddamu kunywa soda mulala,” he said in Luganda, meaning “I will not drink any other soda again.”
The new beverage, described as bolder and fruitier, is now available in a 330ml plastic bottle at grocery stores, supermarkets, and kiosks across the country.
Vivienne Olenyo, Frontline Marketing Manager at The Coca-Cola Company in Uganda, said the launch reflects Fanta’s commitment to offering fun, fruity experiences that connect with evolving consumer tastes.
“We’re thrilled to bring even more variety to Ugandans with this vibrant addition to the Fanta family. Fanta Pineapple embodies our commitment to creating fun, fruity twists filled with deliciousness that cater to people’s evolving tastes,” she noted.
Echoing the excitement, Kirunda Magoola, Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability Director at Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda, said the new flavour reflects the company’s dedication to consumer satisfaction.
“Our diverse beverage portfolio reflects our dedication to meeting the preferences of Ugandans. We’re proud to offer products that bring people together, spark joy, and add flavour and deliciousness to everyday moments,” he said.

Consumers at Nakawa Market praised the drink’s refreshing quality.
Hasifah Kamugisha, a market vendor, said excitedly that Fanta Pineapple doesn’t just taste delicious but also feels like a throat cleanser.
“When I tasted it, I felt like it was cleansing my throat while giving me sweetness. Please Fanta people, ensure this product is in every corner of Uganda.”
Yusuf Tamale, who was preparing his children to return to school, said he had found a new family favourite.
“I’m buying no other drink. Fanta Pineapple will be good for my children. I’ll pack it for them when they go back to school on Sunday. It truly tastes nice,” he said.
With iconic favourites like Fanta Orange and now the new Fanta Pineapple, Coca-Cola says the brand will continue to inspire passion, fun moments, and unforgettable experiences among Ugandans.
