Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to John Mary Ssebuwufu, a National Unity Platform (NUP) Election Management Committee member and Lord Councillor for Nakawa Division, after spending over two months in detention.
He was released on Shs 500,000 cash bail, with four non-cash sureties of Shs 5 million each.
Ssebuwufu was reportedly abducted on 14th January from the Electoral Commission offices in Ntinda, where he was overseeing elections.
He was held incommunicado for a month before being charged with incitement to violence and remanded to prison.
