MultiChoice Uganda has announced special decoder and installation packages ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as it moves to expand access to live coverage of the global tournament through SuperSport.
The tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026, will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada and will feature 48 national teams competing over 39 days.
According to MultiChoice Uganda, customers on DStv Access and GOtv Plus and above will be able to access live coverage of all matches on SuperSport.
The company said it will provide comprehensive World Cup coverage, including dedicated 24-hour tournament channels, multilingual commentary options, and simultaneous match broadcasts to ensure fans do not miss any action.
“The FIFA World Cup is more than just a tournament; it is a shared global moment,” said Hassan Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Uganda.
“Our goal is to ensure that fans across Africa can experience every goal, every story, and every unforgettable moment as it happens. With dedicated World Cup channels, multi-platform access, and continuous coverage, SuperSport will once again be the home of the biggest sporting event in the world,” he added.
As part of the promotional campaign, DStv Standard decoders will retail at shs20,000, Zapper decoders at shs15,000, Explora units at shs559,000, and full installation kits at shs45,000. The offer will run from May 11 to August 31, 2026.
GOtv decoders (Gotenna) will also be available at shs15,000 within the same promotional period.
The broadcaster confirmed that subscribers will have access to all 104 World Cup matches, broadcast live throughout the tournament, alongside dedicated SuperSport channels that will be temporarily rebranded for the event. A special FIFA World Cup pop-up channel will also be introduced.
Beyond live matches, viewers will also enjoy highlights, expert analysis, magazine shows, African football features, and behind-the-scenes content delivered from a Pan-African perspective with multilingual commentary.
Fans will be able to watch matches through live TV, Catch Up, replays, and streaming services across multiple devices, offering flexible viewing options.
