The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said the shs3.4 billion 2025 Rolls Royce Cullinan that security seized from former Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among will be auctioned by the state.
“We captured the Rolls-Royce. It’s under our control. We shall auction it and recover the funds of the state,” Gen Muhoozi said in a post on X.
Security agencies have since Saturday raided several homes belonging to Among as they cast the net wide in the ongoing investigations into corruption and illicit enrichment.
Several sacks of money and other important documents have since been recovered from Among’s homes in Kampala and home district of Bukedea in an operation that Gen Muhoozi said is meant to wipe corruption out of the country.
Several other items including posh cars have also been seized by security as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, a number of Ugandans have welcomed the operation that is also said to be targeting other government officials involved in corruption.
