Ugandan musician Ray G over the weekend staged his biggest concert in Kampala to date, drawing thousands of fans to Kololo Airstrip for an evening of live music and entertainment.

The concert, supported by Uganda Waragi, brought together music lovers from different parts of the country, with performances from Ray G, Truth 256 and a live orchestra band.

Ray G, who has built a strong following in Western Uganda, used the concert to showcase his music to a wider national audience, marking another major step in his career.

The event also highlighted the growing appeal of regional Ugandan music, with fans singing along to Ray G’s songs and celebrating his rise from a regional favourite to an artist commanding major stages in Kampala.

Roy Tumwizere, Brand Manager – Core Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Waragi, said the concert demonstrated the ability of music to bring people together.

“It’s been amazing to watch Ray G’s journey from a cherished regional voice to commanding Kololo. His music brings people together across all walks of life, and as Uganda Waragi, celebrating that spirit of togetherness and national pride alongside him on his biggest stage yet is all worth the good time we are having here today.”

Ray G’s performance featured a mix of his popular songs and live musical arrangements, with the audience joining in throughout the show.

The concert also provided a platform for supporting acts, adding to an evening that combined live performances, entertainment and audience engagement.

Ray G’s Kololo performance comes as the musician continues to expand his audience beyond Western Uganda and establish himself as one of the country’s prominent regional artists.

The event was marked by performances, crowd participation and celebrations that underscored the growing national reach of his music.
