President Museveni will this week embark on a key leg of his Wealth Creation and Parish Development Model (PDM) monitoring tours, with a scheduled visit to Wakiso District, State House has confirmed.
“President Museveni will resume the Wealth Creation and PDM monitoring tours in Wakiso District this week. The tour will focus on skilling hubs, Emyooga, farmers, infrastructure launches, and public rallies to promote job creation and inclusive development in the country,” State House said.
The visit is part of the president’s nationwide drive to assess the progress and implementation of flagship economic transformation programs aimed at lifting millions of Ugandans out of poverty.
During the Wakiso PDM tour, the President is expected to cover key town councils and sub-counties within Wakiso District.
The tour will include inspections of skilling hubs, interactions with Emyooga SACCOs, engagement with farmers, and the commissioning of infrastructure projects.
He will also hold public rallies to mobilize communities around government wealth creation efforts.
The tour comes shortly after Museveni’s nomination as National Chairperson of the NRM, after which he has now turned his attention back to executive duties and national development priorities.
Over the past several months, President Museveni has conducted similar tours in Greater Mukono, Greater Masaka, Busoga, and Bunyoro, consistently emphasizing the need for local leaders to accelerate PDM activities and ensure that funds and services reach households at the parish level.
Wakiso, given its size, strategic location, and socio-economic diversity, is a focal point for evaluating the effectiveness of the PDM in both urban and peri-urban settings.
