President Museveni is later today expected to deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament and the country.
The address will mark the first State of the Nation Address in the current term of both the President and the 12th Parliament.
It will also mark the official opening of the First Session of Parliament, will be held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds starting at 2:00 p.m.
The State of the Nation Address is provided for under Article 101(1) of the Constitution, which requires the President, at the beginning of each session of Parliament, to present an address on the condition of the nation.
