In a bold move to integrate healthcare with everyday financial services, Pride Bank Uganda, in strategic partnership with Jubilee Health and Padre Pio Insurance Brokers, has launched ‘Pride Care’, a groundbreaking embedded health insurance solution.

The initiative is being rolled out under the campaign ‘Malayo ne Pride’, symbolizing a commitment to push customer worries further away through holistic banking solutions.

The newly launched product provides automatic access to health insurance coverage for customers who maintain a minimum balance of shs100,000 in their Pride Bank accounts. This seamless integration ensures that health protection becomes a benefit of disciplined saving, without the need for additional paperwork or premium payments.

“We know that you work hard, you save small amounts, and you try to build your future. But what is the biggest fear? It is getting sick,” said Joseph Feeta, Head of Business at Pride Bank. “One hospital bill can wipe out months of savings. With Pride Care, that cycle ends.”

Feeta emphasized the critical role the product plays for traders and small business owners, whose operations often hinge on the well-being of a small workforce.

“If employees fall sick, your business suffers. Pride Care ensures they remain healthy and productive, which directly supports business continuity and growth,” he noted.

The product will be accessible at all health centers across Uganda that offer Jubilee Health services, providing broad coverage and ease of use.

Veronicah Gladys Namirembe, Managing Director of Pride Bank Uganda, described the initiative as more than just a product launch—it is a reflection of the bank’s long-standing mission.

“With Pride Care, we are extending our financial inclusion agenda beyond credit and savings to encompass health security,” Namirembe said. “This is not just banking. This is transformational support for our customers’ lives.”

She further stated that the bank’s 30-year legacy of customer empowerment continues to evolve in response to the real challenges faced by individuals and small businesses in Uganda.

“By embedding insurance into everyday banking, we eliminate common access barriers such as complex applications and high premiums. Customers now gain tangible health protection simply by maintaining their savings accounts responsibly.”
