Properties worth millions of shillings were destroyed after a fire broke out at Katwe Market on Sunday night.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. The incident comes just weeks after structures at St. Balikudembe Market (Owino) were mysteriously demolished during the night.
According to eyewitnesses, smoke was first noticed at around 6:00pm on Sunday evening, raising concern among traders and nearby residents.
As the night progressed, the flames intensified and spread to several sections of the market, destroying merchandise and other property belonging to traders.
The exact value of the loss has not yet been established.
The Police Fire Brigade responded with fire trucks and water tanks to contain the blaze, but the fire had already spread.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire.
