Sports Club Villa(Joggoo) have confirmed the mutual termination of their contract with head coach Morley Byekwaso, bringing an end to his over two-year tenure at Villa Park.
In a statement, the club announced that the decision followed “constructive discussions” between the club’s management and Coach Morley, with both parties agreeing that parting ways was in the best interest of the club’s future direction.
“We would like to thank Morley for his commitment and contribution to the Club. This was a mutual decision, reached respectfully, and we wish him nothing but the very best in his future coaching endeavours. He has done us proud,” said SC Villa President, Mr. Omar Ahmed Mandela.
Despite being a former player at the club, Morley Byekwaso’s position was not spared following Villa’s underwhelming performance last season, where they finished 6th in the league standings.
Byekwaso, who took charge of the club in 2023, has overseen the team through multiple domestic campaigns and was widely credited for instilling discipline and structure during his time at the helm.
Though he did not clinch major silverware, his impact was acknowledged by both players and club management alike.
The club extended its appreciation for Byekwaso’s dedication, professionalism, and efforts, highlighting his positive influence both on and off the pitch.
With his departure now official, SC Villa is turning its attention to the future.
The club confirmed that the search for a new Head Coach has already commenced, with further updates on the technical team expected in the coming days.
“The Club remains focused on its objectives and will now turn its attention to identifying a new Head Coach who can build on its foundations and guide the team towards achieving its targets,” the statement read.
SC Villa also called on its fans to remain united and supportive as preparations for the upcoming season continue.
