Buganda Road Magistrates Court has committed socialite Don Nasser, real name Nasser Nduhukire to High Court  face trial over child trafficking,  and defilement.

Chief magistrate, Ronald Kayizzi on Monday committed the socialite together with his personal assistant, Promise Ateete, 19.

According to the evidence against the duo, the state says that Don Nasser and his co-accused, Ateete were previously lovers but later became friends.

The evidence shows that Ateete was a friend to the 16-year-old victim of defilement and child trafficking.

The state says that the 16-year-old who currently lives with her mother in Qatar was previously studying at Kabojja International School.

The 16-year-old previously studied in Qatar and when she failed exams, the only way to redo the paper was getting an international school in Uganda since schools in the Gulf country don’t allow the option of re-sitting examination papers.

Consequently, her parents arranged and she travelled to Uganda on April, 20, 2024 and was enrolled at an examination centre where Cambridge exams would be conducted from.

She started staying with her paternal aunt in Naguru .

Disappears from home

However, barely two weeks after returning to Uganda, the 16 year old disappeared from her paternal aunt’s home in Naguru on May, 2 and efforts to trace for her whereabouts proved futile.

Meanwhile, when her aunt called and asked she returns home, she refused.

The following day, the victim’s phone was tracked and an analysis indicated she was on several occasions  in communication with  phone number 0740261292.

When the victim finally returned one two days later on May, 4 in the late afternoon, when she was asked about her whereabout, she was not opening up.

It was later found out that on the fateful night when the victim escaped from home, she was lured away by a person called Promise who was using telephone number 0740261292.

Promise was Don Nasser’s girlfriend.

On the night that the victim escaped from home, Promise also used Snap chat, a social media application to communicate to her.

Meanwhile, the 16 year old girl was later taken to Kyaliwajjala to start staying with her paternal aunt by two weeks later on May, 27, she again escaped from home

Coincidentally, one of the victim’s uncles met Promise(Ateete) who was an acquaintance and asked her about their relationship with the victim.

Ateete first lied that the 16 year old  was her cousin but later opened up when the uncle  told her that the victim was her daughter and then she responded that they were friends with the victim.

Spills beans

To this, Ateete revealed that on the day the 16 year old victim escaped from home she chatted with her on Snap Chat and that they met at Aura Bar along Acacia Avenue for some drinks. A

It is here that Ateete told the victim’s uncle that she later called Don who came and joined them at Aura bar.

It is here that she introduced and handed over the victim to Don Nasser  and she was paid a consideration of shs800,000.

Later, Ateete, Don Nasser and the 16 year old victim sat in his car and were driven to Tagore Living Apartments along Kayunga Road

On reaching Tagore Living Apartments. Don Nasser gave cocaine to the victim and  Ateete and they sniffed it.

According to Ateete, she left the victim and Don Nasser at Tagore Living Apartments and went back to Aura Bar

Don Nasser said he had got to know the 16-year-old victim through Ateete’s Snap Chat account.

When the matter escalated, the 16-year-old victim opened up to her father and aunt explaining how she met the two who recruited her, transported her to Tagore Apartment for sex exploitation but also letter transported to Living Apartments in Kira by Don Nasser who gave him cocaine later had sex with her on several occasions

The state says it intends to rely on this evidence to pin Don Nasser.

Charges

The state alleges that in May this year, Mr Nduhukire, together with others still at large, used his influence to entice young girls, especially students, into sexual exploitation, drug abuse and pornography which is aggravated trafficking in children contrary to section 2(1) (a ) of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act .

Nasser, who often parades high-end vehicles like Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, and Lamborghinis is also accused of transporting a 16-year-old girl from Tagore Apartments along Acacia Avenue in Kampala and harbouring her at his residence in Kito Zone in Kira Division for four days between May 23 and 27 this year.

The socialite is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl which amounts to  defilement contrary to section 116(1) of the Penal Code Act as well as procuring defilement contrary to section 120(1) (a) of the Penal Code Act when he procured a 16 year old girl to have sex with her
