Police in Wamala region have arrested a suspect linked to the gruesome murder of a couple in Kizungu Cell, Ntunda sub county, Kyankwanzi district
Police said the suspect had no known place of abode but a bushman who would come out from the bush at night to execute his missions and go back into hiding
“He has confessed to have killed the couple with their unborn child saying that he wanted money from them but instead, they resorted to fighting him, since he had a panga he cut the man several times killing him instantly, he later turned on the woman who was making an alarm and stabbed her in the ribs which caused her death with her unborn child,” Kigozi said.
He said the suspect had earlier in December been released on bail and further investigations had pointed to a string of crimes he has been involved in, including attempted murder and kidnap among others.
“We thank the community in Kyankwanzi who heard our voice appealing for cooperation and assistance with information who did not end at that but actively participated in the hunt for the suspect who had been labelled a dangerous person to the public.”
Kigozi said the suspect will soon be taken to court.
