The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has warned that the ongoing crackdown against corruption by security will see many more officials scrutinised.
In a post on his X, Gen Muhoozi said security forces currently at outgoing speaker of Parliament, Anita Among are under President Museveni’s directions.
“The security forces under the direction and instructions of the Commander-in-Chief launched Operation ‘Maliza Ufisadi’ the other day,” Gen Muhoozi said.
He added,” We shall expand this operation and apprehend all culprits. No one will be spared.”
The name ‘Maliza Ufisadi’ is loosely translated as finish corruption.
The operation that started on Saturday saw security forces led by the Criminal Investigations Directorate detectives raid Among’s home in Nakasero.
extended its tentacles to Among’s home in Kigo searching it in what seems to be a widening crackdown by the state.
The crackdown by teams from police and the military is also said to be extended to Among’s country home in Bukedea district.
It is also reported that the crackdown has also extend to her home in Ntinda as the state seeks to curtail alleged illicit enrichment and money laundering.
Among is accused of corruption and illicit wealth accumulation.
According to reports, the ongoing crackdown also targets Among’s close allies in parliament.
