BrighterMonday Uganda  has reaffirmed its commitment to workplace inclusion through a successful hosting of HR Fusion 2025, held in Jinja under the theme “Creating Inclusion: Fostering Belonging for Every Talent to Thrive at Work.”

The high-impact event brought together human resource professionals, business leaders, and managers from sectors such as manufacturing, hospitality, health, ICT, and NGOs.

The gathering underscored a growing recognition across Uganda’s corporate and development sectors that a strong sense of belonging is directly tied to employee engagement, productivity, and long-term retention.

Speaking during the event, Pamela Kabahesi, Country Programme Lead at BrighterMonday Uganda], said the platform is committed to helping employers build high-performing, inclusive workplaces where all talent—regardless of background or gender—feels valued, empowered, and able to thrive.

“This ‘HR Fusion’ event delivered practical, actionable strategies for employers to cultivate inclusive environments. Our focus extended to supporting key sectors like manufacturing and hospitality with the tools to implement inclusive practices at scale, thereby driving national growth and innovation,” she said.

The symposium explored the direct connection between belonging and employee retention, offering real-world strategies for HR teams to create welcoming environments.

It emphasized daily inclusion practices, the importance of leadership in fostering belonging, and how to measure the success of inclusion initiatives. Leaders were also trained on inclusive communication, addressing unconscious bias, and empowering team members to share their unique perspectives.

The event formed part of BrighterMonday Uganda’s broader mission to create dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for young Ugandans.

It aligns with the organization’s strategic partnership with the Mastercard Foundation through the Young Africa Works Program, which seeks to improve employment outcomes across Uganda.

“By equipping employers, especially in high-growth sectors, to prioritize inclusion, we are not only helping young people secure jobs but also ensuring they thrive and grow within these organizations,” the BrighterMonday Uganda representative added.

Targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with 20 to 50 employees, the event was tailored to the realities of Uganda’s private sector, while also engaging NGOs and businesses in key industries like health, ICT, and tourism.

Beyond learning and networking, HR Fusion served as a strategic platform to strengthen the placement pipeline for job seekers.

It also reinforced BrighterMonday Uganda’s mission to bridge the talent gap by driving employer engagement and supporting workforce development across the country.

The organization pledged to continue leading conversations around workplace excellence, with a vision to build a national workforce where every talent has the opportunity to belong, contribute, and excel.
