Police in Matugga have recovered a rifle that was stolen during a robbery at Stabex Fuel Station in Namakonkome earlier this month.
The firearm, which belonged to a security guard attached to Knight Security, was taken during the robbery on March 9, 2026.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Rachael Kawala, the gun was recovered on March 22 at around 11:00am in Namakonkome, Gombe Division, Wakiso District.
“A resident discovered an object resembling a firearm while working in her garden and immediately alerted authorities. This led to the successful recovery of the weapon, which is now in safe custody as an exhibit,” Kawala said.
Police say efforts are ongoing to track down the suspects involved in the robbery.
