Uganda Baati Limited has pledged Shs 10 million to support the Kabaka Birthday Run 2026, reaffirming its partnership with the Buganda Kingdom.
The commitment was announced during a courtesy visit by the company’s leadership to the Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, at Bulange Mengo on Wednesday.
The meeting brought together officials from both sides to discuss areas of collaboration, including community initiatives and opportunities to strengthen Uganda Baati’s presence within Buganda’s business ecosystem.
The Katikkiro welcomed the company’s continued engagement, underscoring the importance of partnerships that respond to community needs and support economic development.
Uganda Baati Chief Executive Officer, George Arodi, said the company is focused on building long-term, community-centered partnerships.
He noted that the contribution to the run reflects Uganda Baati’s broader commitment to initiatives that address social challenges while strengthening ties with key institutions.
This year’s run, scheduled for April 12, will be held under the theme “Men Against HIV/AIDS to Save the Girl Child.” As part of its contribution, Uganda Baati plans to set up a mobile clinic at the event to provide counselling and HIV awareness information to participants.
The two parties also explored ways to expand collaboration in the near term, particularly by connecting Uganda Baati’s products to traders, homeowners and entrepreneurs across the kingdom.
The Kabaka Birthday Run is one of Buganda Kingdom’s flagship events, drawing thousands of participants annually to raise awareness about public health issues.
