Several people are feared dead while many others have sustained injuries following a head-on collision involving an Opit Travellers bus and a trailer truck along the Kampala–Gulu Highway in Omoro District.
The crash occurred on Tuesday night at Kulu Otit Village in Bobi Sub-county.
Preliminary reports indicate that the bus, which was travelling from Kampala to Gulu City, reportedly veered into the lane of an oncoming trailer, resulting in a devastating collision.
Residents rushed to the scene to rescue passengers trapped in the wreckage and rushed the injured to nearby health facilities for medical attention.
By press time, authorities had not yet released the official number of fatalities and injuries.
The cause of the crash remains unclear as investigations continue.
