Xiaomi has unveiled the REDMI Note 17 Series, introducing four new smartphones as the company marks more than 500 million REDMI Note series shipments worldwide.
The new lineup comprises the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17, giving consumers a range of options across different price points and usage needs.
Xiaomi says the new series continues the REDMI Note brand’s focus on combining premium features with accessibility, while introducing improvements in durability, battery performance, displays, cameras and artificial intelligence.
Leading the new range is the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, the first Pro Max model in the REDMI Note family. The smartphone features a 10,000mAh battery, which Xiaomi describes as its largest-ever smartphone battery.
The company says the Pro Max model supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging, while selected markets will receive a variant equipped with a 9,210mAh battery.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G comes with an 8,340mAh battery and 67W HyperCharge, while both the REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 feature 7,700mAh batteries and 45W charging.
Built for long-term use
The new series is built around what Xiaomi calls its “Built for Years” philosophy, with the company placing emphasis on durability and long-term ownership.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G and REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G feature the company’s REDMI Titan Quality and REDMI Titan Structure systems.
According to Xiaomi, the two Pro models have received TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality Certification, covering areas including drop resistance, water resistance and battery performance.
The company says the Pro models also feature IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings and have undergone extensive water-resistance and drop testing.
Xiaomi says the REDMI Note 17 Series will receive up to six years of security updates, while selected models will also receive extended battery-health support.
New design and displays
The REDMI Note 17 Series introduces a refreshed design featuring redesigned camera modules, flat displays, rounded corners and updated rear finishes.
The Pro models feature 6.83-inch displays, while the REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 have 6.99-inch displays.
The Pro models offer 1.5K resolution and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, according to Xiaomi, alongside a 3,200Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is available in Cloud Blush, Green, Purple and Black.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G comes in Sky Blue, Satin Orange, Purple and Black, while the REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17 are available in Celestial Purple, Sky Teal and Black.
AI and camera features
The new smartphones also incorporate artificial intelligence features.
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G includes Xiaomi HyperAI, while Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google are available across the series, according to Xiaomi.
The Pro models additionally feature AI-powered photography and editing tools, including AI Glare Removal, AI Erase Pro, AI Beautify and AI Image Enhancement.
For content creators, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. Dual-video recording is available across the series, while the Pro models offer additional video features including Professional Video mode and Live Moment.
Pricing
The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G starts at US$499, while the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G starts at US$399.
The REDMI Note 17 5G starts at US$299, with the standard REDMI Note 17 starting at US$249.
Storage configurations, colour options and availability will vary by market.
In eligible markets, buyers of the REDMI Note 17 Series will also receive promotional trials for Google One, YouTube Premium and Spotify Premium, subject to local availability and applicable terms.
With the launch, Xiaomi is positioning the REDMI Note 17 Series as the latest generation of its popular Note family, combining long-term durability with battery endurance, AI capabilities, upgraded displays and enhanced camera features.
