One person sustained minor injuries following twin blasts that went off simultaneously in two separate Kampala suburbs on Saturday night.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, the blasts went off at around 9pm.
“In Mayor Zone, Kabalagala Parish, Makindye Division, at about 9 pm, a business premise specializing in frying chips experienced an incident that led to a blast. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. Nakasagga Joy, the owner of the business, aged 23, sustained minor injuries but is currently in stable condition,” Owyesigyire said.
He noted that in Nabweru, the police bomb squad and forensic services responded to another blast heard around 9 pm.
“The blast occurred in one of the unoccupied rentals. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were reported. Our team is diligently working to determine the cause of the blast, and further information regarding the next steps will be provided once investigations are complete.”

Security has not yet attributed anyone to be behind the double blasts.
Previously, Allied Democratic Forces(ADF) has been blamed for planning bombings in Kampala, including the November, 2021 double blasts targeting the Central Police Station and Parliamentary Avenue in which nine people were killed and several others injured.
