The Chief Magistrates Court in Nakawa has remanded Jolin Kanohere Rugari, the wife to Zimbabwe’s Consular general to Uganda, Chris Rugari after being charged with murder of her two year old son.The Chief Magistrates Court in Nakawa has remanded Jolin Kanohere Rugari after being charged with murder.
Kanohere was on Friday afternoon arraigned before court, together with her housemaid, Robinah Nabbanja .
The state alleges that on between April, 1 and 2, 2025, Kanohere, while at Mutungo Zone 8, Mutungo Hill Parish, Nakawa Division in Kampala district, with malice aforethought unlawfully murdered two year old Nganwa Rugari, contrary to section 189 of the Penal Code Act.
The housemaid was on the other side charged with being an accessory to the fact of murder contrary to section 171 of the Penal Code when she well knowing that Kanohere Jolin Rugari had murdered Nganwa Rugari, assisted her in order to enable her to escape punishment.
They two were not allowed to say anything since they are facing capital offences only triable by the High Court.
They were consequently remanded to Luzira Prison until the end of this month when they will return for the mention of the case.
