The Parents and Teachers Organisation (PTO) of Acorns International School – Kisaasi Campus has donated essential items to Sister Teresa Babies Home as part of the school’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable children in the community.

The donation, conducted under the school’s 30 for 30 Wellbeing Campaign, brought together parents, teachers, staff and students, who contributed food, clothing, toiletries, baby supplies and other basic necessities for children living at the home.

Beyond delivering the donations, members of the Acorns community spent time interacting with the children and caregivers through games, conversations and other activities aimed at bringing joy and comfort to the home.

Speaking during the outreach, Kisaasi Campus PTO Chair Danish Dulo said the initiative reflected the school’s commitment to giving back to the community while bringing families together around a shared purpose.

“The generosity shown by our parents, staff and students was truly inspiring. Every donation, no matter how big or small, represented hope and reminded the children at Sister Teresa Babies Home that they are loved and supported,” Dulo said.

He noted that the charity drive was more than a donation exercise, describing it as an opportunity to demonstrate compassion, strengthen community bonds and instil the values of empathy and service among learners.

Kisaasi Campus PTO Vice Chair Shweta Hirani said the visit was intended to create meaningful connections with the children rather than simply deliver supplies.

“It was about spending time with the children, sharing moments of joy and reminding them that they are part of a wider community that cares deeply about them. We hope this inspires more families to embrace the spirit of giving and service,” she said.

The outreach forms part of the Acorns Group of Schools’ 30 for 30 Wellbeing Campaign, an initiative marking the school’s 30 years of shaping lives while encouraging acts of kindness, empathy and community service.

The Kisaasi Campus PTO thanked all parents, students and staff who contributed to the donation drive, saying their generosity made the initiative a success and reaffirmed the Acorns community’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond the classroom.
