Political analyst Charles Rwomushana was on Saturday morning picked up by a group of armed, plain-clothed men shortly after appearing on Radio Simba in Kampala.
Rwomushana was appearing on the station’s Gasimbagane ne Bannamawulire programme when the men reportedly stormed the radio station and took him away.
A video circulating on social media shows several men believed to be plain-clothed security officers escorting Rwomushana out of the station and placing him in a Jeep.
The circumstances surrounding his arrest, including the identity of the men and the reason for his detention, remain unclear.
Authorities had not issued an official statement explaining Rwomushana’s arrest by press time.
