The Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has once again thrown a jibe at former presidential candidate and National Unity Platform president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine.
Muhoozi said in a tweet on Sunday that it is not true Bobi Wine escaped from Uganda last week as he claimed but rather did it earlier in January.
“Kabobi should stop telling the world lies. He fled the country on January, 26 this year, 11 days after elections. He has spent two months in the United States eating Big Macs while his followers are in jail. Some leader,” Muhoozi said .
He added, “ He escaped through sewage pipes.”
The comments come on the backdrop of a bombshell by Kyagulanyi last week, announcing his exit from Uganda.
“I am announcing my brief exit from the country to handle important work. Over the next few weeks, I will engage with our friends in the diaspora before returning to Uganda to continue the push for freedom and democracy,” he said.
The developments followed continued security siege at Bobi Wine’s home in Magere in Wakiso district following the January 15 polls that he lost to the incumbent, President Museveni.
