It was tears and joy at the same time during the 2025 Masaza Cup semifinals plays in different stadiums over the weekend.
In Mukono, hosts Kyaggwe missed their second final at a whisker after being eliminated in penalty shootouts by Buweekula.
Kyaggwe had won the first leg one nil in Mubende and in the game in Mukono on Sunday, the visitors, just reciprocated the score.
With only two minutes into the second stanza, Colline Ssemanda scored a crucial freekick that took the tie on a 1-all aggregate and consquently into the penalty shootouts in a game played at Bishops SS , Mukono.
The home side didnt survive the shootout as Buweekula won 4-2 to storm the finals, leaving Kyaggwe fans in tears at their own home ground.
In another nail-biting game, Ssingo secured their place in the final after holding Bugerere to a goalless draw in the return leg, advancing on a 2–1 aggregate thanks to their first-leg victory.
Just like Buweekula, Ssingo also qualified for finals away from home, having won the first leg played at the Ntenjeru Playgrounds in Kayunga last weekend.
Buweekula and Ssingo will now face off in finals to be played on November, 1 at the Hamz Nakivubo Stadium in Kampala.
The clash between Buweekula and Ssingo neighbouring counties with a fierce football rivalry is expected to attract massive crowds, with fans eagerly awaiting one of the most electrifying finals in the tournament’s history.
