The High Court in Kampala has for the second time denied bail to Molly Katanga the wife to murdered businessman, Henry Katanga.
Justice Isaac Muwata said Tuesday morning that whereas it is her right to apply for bail multiple times, each fresh application must have fresh grounds different from the previous ones.
The judge however said this was not the case with Mrs Katanga’s second application.
“There is nothing new in the ground that her medical condition cant be managed by prison authorities. She has rather mentioned this,” Justice Muwata said.
The judge also noted that the case is in advanced stages of trial and granting the accused bail would jeopardize the case.
Muwata said the prosecution has already made a disclosure of its evidence to the defence lawyers , noting that granting bail at this time would jeopardise the case which is ready for hearing.
He dismissed the application.
