In a bid to ensure maximum participation in the electoral process, the Electoral Commission (EC) urges Ugandans especially those unable to physically access their polling stations to verify their details online through its digital voter verification portal.
The call comes as part of the ongoing National Display of the Voters Register, which runs daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is set to end on 15th May 2025.
“Use our online portal to confirm your polling station today. Visit ec.or.ug/register ,” the Commission stated, highlighting the convenience and accessibility the online platform offers to voters across the country.
With the growing need for digital inclusion and the convenience of remote access, the Commission’s online verification portal allows citizens to confirm their registration status, verify polling station details, and report any inaccuracies without visiting physical display centers.
This effort is particularly crucial for persons with limited mobility, those living far from display venues, or busy individuals who cannot afford the time to travel.
In addition to the general voter register, the Commission is also displaying Special Interest Group (SIG) registers for Persons with Disabilities, the Youth, and Older Persons.
These are equally accessible for review, with the display period also ending on 15th May 2025.
The EC reminds the public that this display exercise is a vital part of the electoral process, allowing Ugandans to correct errors, confirm eligibility, and ensure that elections are conducted fairly and accurately.
As the deadline nears, citizens are encouraged to log on to ec.or.ug/register and play their part in strengthening Uganda’s democratic processes.
