The NRM has confirmed that elections for the Youth and Entrepreneurs League executive members and youth Members of Parliament flagbearers will be held this Thursday, across all districts of Uganda.

The confirmation was communicated by the NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, who emphasized that the polls will proceed as directed by the party’s top organ, the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

“This is to reconfirm that the above elections will take place on Thursday, 18th September 2025, as directed by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) in all the districts of Uganda. Please note, this election has not been postponed and will proceed as directed by the NRM Central Executive Committee,” Todwong stated.

According to the Secretary General, the NRM Electoral Commission will oversee the conduct of the elections and is expected to issue detailed guidelines. He added that the National Treasurer will handle administrative matters, including facilitation of delegates during the exercise.

“The NRM Electoral Commission will be in charge of the elections and will issue guidelines for the elections as required. The National Treasurer will issue administrative guidelines for all other arrangements, including arrangements to facilitate the delegates,” Todwong explained.

The elections are part of the ruling party’s broader preparations for the 2026 general elections, with the youth vote considered a critical pillar in the NRM’s grassroots mobilization
