Martha Okumu Ringa, a Foreign Service Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has died, this website has learnt.
Martha, as she was commonly known died last night in Italy where she had been posted by the ministry.
According to the minister, she had an accident last week and suffered a compound fracture while at work in her duty station at Uganda Embassy, Rome.
“She had successfully undergone an initial surgery and was going for the second one on Saturday,” an official in the ministry said.
It is reported that Martha suffered a heart attack last night while a nurse attended to her in preparation for the second surgery.
Martha Okumu Ringa has been a daughter to former minister, Patrick Okumu Ringa who died in 2023.
