Police in Wakiso District have arrested four suspects accused of breaking into a church and stealing a public address system, along with several other suspected stolen items.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, the arrests followed a report by a pastor from Just Believe Ministries in Nkoowe village, Mende Subcounty, after unidentified thugs allegedly broke into the church.
“Police in Wakiso have arrested four suspects in connection with the theft of church property and other suspected stolen items,” Owoyesigyire said.
“The arrests followed a report made by a pastor from Just Believe Ministries in Nkoowe village after unidentified thugs broke into the church and stole a public address system.”
Owoyesigyire said a joint operation between Wakiso and Nkoowe Police led to the arrest of Ronald Ssekitoleko, a known repeat offender, together with his accomplices Ronald Wejuri, Robert Ssekajja, and Fatumah Nabakooza.
The suspects were found with several household and electronic items believed to have been stolen from various locations.
“A search conducted at different locations led to the recovery of numerous exhibits, including TV sets, amplifiers, loudspeakers, sofa sets, microphones, and other electronics suspected to have been stolen from multiple sources,” Owoyesigyire added.
He said inquiries are ongoing to identify more victims and recover additional stolen property.
“Investigations are continuing as efforts are underway to identify more victims and recover other items,” Owoyesigyire noted.
