Ugandan golfer Bernadette Musanabera has officially received a brand-new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid following her historic hole-in-one during the Stanbic Match Play Qualifier Tournament at Entebbe Club.
The handover ceremony, held at CFAO Mobility Toyota Showroom, brought together sponsors, golf stakeholders, and members of the public to celebrate what has been described as a landmark moment for the sport in Uganda.
Musanabera secured the prize after delivering a flawless ace on the par-three 12th hole during the February 14, 2026 tournament. Using a Ping 9-iron, she struck a precise 113-yard shot that landed cleanly on the green before spinning into the cup, drawing widespread celebration from players and spectators.
The achievement makes Musanabera the first female golfer—and the first overall in the history of the Stanbic Match Play series—to win a hole-in-one car prize.
“I can’t imagine that I’m now part of history,” Musanabera said during the handover. “This shows that golf is not just a sport but also rewarding. I encourage more golfers, especially ladies, to actively participate because there are real opportunities.”

The prize was fully sponsored by Afrisafe Insurance Brokers & Risk Consultants in partnership with CFAO Mobility, long-time supporters of golfing activities at Entebbe Club. Organisers noted that the hole-in-one prize has been part of efforts to enhance competitiveness and reward excellence in the tournament over the past decade.
CFAO Mobility Marketing Manager Isaac Tegule described the moment as a celebration of precision and opportunity, while Afrisafe Chairman Kwame Ejalu highlighted the significance of the prize finally being won—particularly by a female golfer—as a milestone for the sport.
The tournament’s main sponsor, Stanbic Bank Uganda, also commended the achievement, noting that such moments reflect the growing stature of golf in the country and the impact of sustained corporate support.
The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid awarded to Musanabera comes with a two-year service plan and a three-year warranty, underscoring its positioning as a modern and efficient mobility solution.

The Stanbic Match Play Qualifier attracted 246 golfers from across Uganda, with 64 pairs advancing to the next stage of the competition. The series will culminate in a grand finale, with top performers set to earn international golf experiences, including attendance at the DP World Tour in Dubai and trips to Zanzibar and Mombasa.
Musanabera’s achievement stands out as a defining highlight of the 2026 series, reinforcing the growing appeal of golf in Uganda and the role of private sector investment in elevating the sport.
