Police in Kampala have launched investigations into the killing of a Ministry of Local Government official in a case suspected to involve a love triangle.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala said in a statement on Thursday that the incident happened on the same day at about 6am in Kamuli A Zone, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District, where Moses Omaido , 44 was found with a fatal stab wound.
“He later succumbed to the injuries. Preliminary findings indicate that the incident followed a misunderstanding at his residence involving Oliver Agadi and Aliya,” Kawala said.
The Kampala police spokesperson said Agadi has since been arrested to assist in investigations while efforts to apprehend the other suspect are ongoing.
“The body of the deceased was conveyed to City Mortuary for post-mortem examination.”
The incident

According to the police incident report from the scene, filed at Kireka Police Station under Kireka CRB 115/2026, the crime happened at Omaido’s rented house in Kira Municipality.
Quoting Agadi who is described as Omaido’s current girlfriend, the police report says on March, 25 at about 8pm, she(Agadi) arrived at their home and found another woman, identified only as Aliya and is said to be an ex-girlfriend to the deceased.
It is said that at night, both women spent the night in the same house and that while the current girlfriend(Agadi) was made to sleep in the sitting room, Omaido slept with the ex-girlfriend(Aliya) in the bedroom.
The police report also indicates that in the morning, as Omaido prepared to go for work, Aliya allegedly stopped him from leaving and this prompted a heated argument.
“This led to an argument between the two, which escalated into a violent confrontation,” the police report reads in part.
The report quotes the current girlfriend (Agadi) saying that she was in the bedroom at the time and by the time she came out, she saw blood coming out of the bedroom and that the two individuals( Omaido and Aliya) had left the house.
Omaido’s lifeless body was later found lying in a pool of blood along a path leading to his home.
The body had a stab wound on the lower front part of the neck.
Agadi has since been arrested to aid in investigations into the matter which seems to have been a love triangle.
