Java House Uganda has expanded its footprint in the country with the official opening of a new outlet at Shell Naguru, bringing the brand’s total number of restaurants in Uganda to ten as it marks 12 years of operations in the local market.

The Naguru outlet, described as a flagship investment, forms part of Java House’s broader growth strategy aimed at bringing its premium coffee and casual dining experience closer to customers in key residential and commercial areas. The company says the new branch reinforces its commitment to quality, consistency, and customer-focused service.

Strategically located, the Naguru restaurant is designed to serve a diverse customer base throughout the day, offering a modern and comfortable space suitable for quick coffee stops, business meetings, and relaxed dining. The outlet is expected to set elevated operational, service, and design standards across the Java House network in Uganda.

To coincide with the anniversary and branch opening, Java House has introduced new products to its menu, including Java Ka Chai and Java Gold Label Black Tea, broadening its beverage range to cater to evolving consumer preferences.

The company is also preparing to roll out Java House In-House Delivery, a new service aimed at responding to changing urban lifestyles and increasing demand for convenience, particularly among younger consumers.

At launch, customers will be able to place delivery orders via phone calls and WhatsApp through a centralised call centre, with an app and website expected in later phases.

According to Java House, delivery operations have been structured to ensure food quality and consistency, with preparation and rider dispatch closely coordinated. Delivery times are estimated at between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on distance.

Speaking at the launch, Java House Chief Executive Officer Priscilla Gathungu said the new branch reflects the brand’s commitment to expanding its reach while maintaining high standards.

“We are excited to bring our love for coffee and food to even more Ugandans with the opening of this new branch. We remain committed to serving Uganda with passion as we grow and create experiences that feel close to home for our customers,” Gathungu said.

The Naguru outlet has created dozens of direct jobs and is also expected to support indirect employment through local partners. Java House said the restaurant will serve as a training and talent development centre, offering skills development and career progression opportunities for staff.

The company further noted that about 95 per cent of its supplies in Uganda are sourced locally, including fresh produce, dairy, and poultry, a strategy aimed at supporting local businesses, strengthening supply chain resilience, and contributing to the domestic economy.

Java House Uganda Country Manager Eusila Jepleting said the expansion aligns with the company’s mission to improve access to quality dining experiences while enhancing operational efficiency.

“Expanding to Naguru allows us to better serve our customers with the warm hospitality and quality meals we are known for. Our partnership with Vivo Energy has also been instrumental in providing a well-maintained and accessible location at Shell Naguru that supports both dine-in and delivery services,” Jepleting said.

With operations across East Africa and more than a decade in Uganda, Java House continues to position itself as a leading coffee-led casual dining brand, focusing on innovation, local partnerships, and strong community connections.
