Prosper Twebaze,a journalist, has trounced Jaffari Basajjabalaba, a brother to businessman, Hassan Basajjabalaba in the Bushenyi LC5 race in the NRM primaries.
According to results , Twebaze got 66,101 votes representing 86.2% of the total votes to beat Basajjabala’s brother who is also the incumbent and long-serving Bushenyi district chairperson
who only got 10,597 votes representing a paltry 13.8%.
“I hereby declare Prosper Twebaze who polled the highest number of votes as the duly elected NRM flag bearer for the position of district chairperson for Bushenyi district,” the NRM returning officer for Bushenyi, Archangel Barekye announced.
Speaking after the win, Twebaze said he is ready to return Bushenyi to greater heights if elected in the general 2026 elections.
