Entebbe International Airport handled 156,342 international passengers in July 2026, representing an increase of 25,096 passengers compared with the previous month.
According to data from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), the airport recorded 86,586 arriving passengers and 69,756 departing passengers during the month.
This translates into an average of about 5,043 international passengers arriving at and departing from the airport each day.
The July figure compares with 131,246 international passengers recorded in June, comprising 67,601 arrivals and 63,645 departures.
UCAA attributed the increase partly to the peak travel season, which typically runs from June to August.
“Entebbe International Airport recorded 86,586 arriving and 69,756 departing passengers in July 2026, bringing the total to 156,342 international passengers, an average of 5,043 arrivals and departures per day,” UCAA said.
Despite the month-on-month increase, international passenger traffic remained below the levels recorded during the same period in 2025.
July 2026 traffic was 70,667 passengers lower than the corresponding month last year, while June 2026 recorded 70,514 fewer international passengers compared with June 2025.
The figures indicate a recovery in passenger traffic as the peak travel period progresses, although international movements remain below the levels recorded a year earlier.
Cargo activity at Entebbe International Airport also increased in July.
The airport handled 3,123 metric tonnes of exports and 1,676 metric tonnes of imports during the month, bringing total cargo handled to 4,799 metric tonnes.
This represents an increase of 659 metric tonnes compared with the 4,140 metric tonnes handled in June.
The rise in both passenger and cargo traffic comes as Uganda’s main international gateway continues to experience increased activity during the peak travel season.
