More details have emerged on the incident in which a man attacked a daycare centre in Kampala and killed four children on the spot.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala, the suspect identified as Christopher Okello Anyu had a day ago gone to Ggaba Early Childhood Day Care Centre in Makindye Division in Kampala where he asked to have his child admitted.

“Preliminary findings indicate that a few days ago,  the suspect allegedly came to this place seeking for admission And he was told to go back to the school today. What he did, he actually also paid for the admission And after that, proceeded and attacked these children, killing four of them instantly,” Kawala said.

She  identified the deceased as Ryan Odeke, aged one and a half years, Gideon Eteko, aged two and a half years, Keisha Elungat, aged two, and Ignatius Sseruyange, aged two.

“Their bodies have been taken to Mulago City Mortuary for Post-mortem,” Kawala said.

She said the other 10 kids who were also in the same class as the deceased during the incident have since been given to their parents.

Police said they are yet to establish inform about the motive of the killer but said he was moving with a sharp object that he had hidden.

“He  had some knives that he used to stab these innocent children.”
