KCB Bank Uganda has officially announced its title sponsorship of the National Rally Championship, marking a significant milestone in the bank’s commitment to supporting motorsport and promoting national progress through sports.
The announcement was made at the KCB Bank Uganda headquarters in Kampala during an event attended by government representatives, the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda, rally drivers, and motorsport enthusiasts.
Under the new partnership, the rally will now be branded the KCB–National Rally Championship, starting with a series on 27 March 2026 in Mbale.

The latest move represents a strategic shift from sponsorship to full category ownership, positioning KCB Bank as the leading financial partner of Ugandan motorsport.
“Motorsport is a powerful symbol of performance, resilience, and precision—values that mirror how we operate as a bank. By taking on the title sponsorship of the National Rally Championship Series and extending direct support to drivers, we are reaffirming our commitment to driving local pride, empowering youth talent, and supporting platforms that inspire national progress. Just as rally drivers rely on performance and reliability to conquer challenging terrain, our customers rely on KCB Bank for innovative financial solutions that move them forward,” said Edgar Byamah, Managing Director of KCB Bank Uganda.
Jimmy Akena, President of the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda, welcomed the strengthened partnership:
“The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda is proud to deepen our partnership with KCB Bank Uganda as the title sponsor of the National Rally Championship. This level of investment not only strengthens the championship but also directly supports drivers, which is critical for the growth of the sport. Together, we are building a stronger, more competitive motorsport ecosystem that showcases Ugandan talent on the continental and global stage.”
The announcement follows a recent international win by KCB-sponsored rally driver Oscar Ntambi, highlighting the potential of Ugandan drivers when provided with the right support.
Ntambi praised KCB Bank for backing local talent and elevating motorsport in Uganda:
“Representing Uganda on the world stage and winning the ARC2 category was an incredible experience, and having the backing of KCB Bank made that journey possible. Seeing the bank step forward with this level of investment in both the championship and drivers is a huge win for the entire motorsport community.”
The KCB–National Rally Championship remains one of Africa’s most iconic rally events, attracting top regional drivers and thousands of fans every year. With enhanced investment in both the competition and its athletes, the championship is set to deliver greater excitement, innovation, and opportunities for the next generation of Ugandan rally talent.
Through this partnership, KCB Bank Uganda continues to strengthen its brand promise of delivering performance, digital convenience, and innovative financial solutions that empower individuals, businesses, and communities to move forward.
