During his homily, Bishop Kakooza emphasized the sacred responsibility of priesthood, describing it as a divine calling rooted in the mission of Jesus Christ—to teach, sanctify, and govern.
“This is done through leading, guiding and nurturing the communities in the word and sacraments that give life to the Catholic Church,” he said.
The bishop also cautioned the newly ordained priests against indiscipline, urging them to live lives of holiness and serve as exemplary shepherds to the people of God.
“Always be exemplary to God’s people that they may be guided to the God’s Kingdom,” Bishop Kakooza advised.
He also called upon the families of the ordained and the wider Catholic community to support and pray for them as they begin their new spiritual journey.
Also in attendance at the ordination was the Bishop Emeritus of Lugazi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Matthias Ssekamanya, alongside numerous priests and religious leaders who came to witness and celebrate the sacred event.
