Police in Kampala have arrested a man accused of killing a security guard at a church.
According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire,Caleb Alimu was arrested following the murder of Moses Epodoi, 32, a security guard attached to Corporate Security Limited, who was found dead on October, 29, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kansanga.
His lifeless body was found without a head.
“Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased, who was on duty at the church gate, was attacked and beheaded by a suspect known to some church members. A team of police officers visited and processed the scene, recovering several exhibits for forensic analysis,” Owoyesigyire said.
He noted that today, Thursday, following an intelligence led operation, police arrested the prime suspect, Alimu at Ggaba Landing Site.
“He has since confessed to the murder and is guiding investigators to where he hid the head and knife used.”
This website has learnt that during interrogation, the prime suspect confessed that he murdered the security guard after stopping him from entering the church.
“The body was taken to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem, and investigations to establish the motive are ongoing.”
